Creating My Own Style.

After researching the habits and trends of multiple directors such as Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino, and Edgar Wright I now have the inspiration and a better idea of how I would like to create my own short film. By combining the non - linear and character driven style of Nolan, the drawn out scenes of dialogue of Tarantino, and the creative transitions and music of Wright I believe I can create a compelling and cohesive narrative for my final project. Even though I have many ideas of how to create my story, I am still torn on making my project a fiction piece or more a documentary based film. I am leaning more towards the documentary side because I believe it would be interesting to get real student perspective on the average school year. Also, by doing a documentary it would be interesting to compare grade levels from freshman year to senior year and maybe even college students and how stress changes year to year. The only reason I'm still torn on creating a fictional story line is because I could make the stress aspect of school more dramatized in order to emphasize the impact that it has on school. I think I'll choose the documentary option because it could create a bigger impact and provide better perspective on a n audience. For the remainder of the week I will continue to brainstorm the storyboard for my film and will hopefully begin filming after the break!
