For the past week I have been in the process of collecting film and specific shots that will ultimately go into my film. Throughout this process I have decided to go with a bleaker tone for my documentary, using darker camera filters and shots of empty hallways. I think with a topic as serious as stress it should not be taken lightly and I want to make sure I come across as serious as possible so I don't offend anybody who suffers from stress or anxiety. So far I have interviewed four students and have gotten some great responses. My plan is to edit their responses and use them as audio to play over some of the shots I take. As I go along the filming process I keep getting ideas in my head of what I would like to do. During my free time I have been watching other documentary's on Netflix and collecting more and more ideas on how I would like to make my own. I have been tinkering with the idea of following a narrative of a student (possibly myself) while also documenting the life of others. QB1 is a documentary on Netflix that follows three students athletes in a very cohesive narrative and much of my inspiration is coming from that. However, that show is a series with multiple episodes where mine is a 20-30 minute short film. I will continue to film shots almost anywhere I go that is school related. My goal is to have so much footage that I don't even need but just to have for a just in case. I will keep you updated as my filming goes along.
