Brainstorm, Brainstorm, Brainstorm.

Making my own original idea or script for my own short film has deemed much more difficult than expected. However, I have decided that I will be doing a documentary depicting the life of students at Sutton High. I want to keep this as factual and accurate as possible but also includes portions of comic relief. The topic of stress and mental health is very serious but I think by lightening up the mood in some aspects of this film will create a underlining theme of hope. Also, this film is for the students at Sutton so I would love to get my own peers' opinion on some ideas for the film. My idea is to interview my peers on their experience in high school and also include candid moments in their daily routine. I want to include some statistics and facts on mental health like how many teens are diagnosed with mental health issues and ways to cope recommended by doctors. I would also like to interview teachers and the principal to see their opinion on mental health in school and how they try and help students stay as s stress free as possible. I think it would be interesting to possibly make the documentary as if it's following the lives of students throughout one week. In fact in the middle of writing this post I had the idea of filming during the week of midterms to capture students at their most stressed, or possibly the week after to see how students had handled the stress. For now I need to keep brainstorming ideas in order to being filming next week.
